This was a Special Show for Families at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta, GA on 11/02/07. Lots of kids and parents in attendance, and the concert showcased primarily songs from TMBG's three childrens' albums. I was pleased (but not surprised) that TMBG didn't dumb anything down for the kids--the show was essentially just a completely clean version of their regular way of doing things.

Flansburgh had the flu, and apparently we were having tornado-y weather outdoors at some point during the show, but none of that lessened the enjoyability of things.

Unlike the other concerts documented here, I don't have many pictures from this one. I wasn't as near the stage as usual, and for some reason their was a "only non-flash photos" rule this time around.

A shot of the marquee and the line outside before the show, followed by a shot of some of the kids playing with their TMBG foam fingers as the venue began to fill.

A couple of shots of the concert...apologies for the poor quality this time around.

There was a quest appearance by the Homestar Runner puppet from homestarrunner.com!
Homestar is accompanied by broom, because, following some banter, he joined Linnell singing, "I Am Not Your Broom".

Here are some video clips taken during the show. Most of them have completely atrocious video quality, but at least they give you a vague sense of things.

A clip of Homestar Runner's appearance/song:

A partial clip, featuring the first few lines of "One Dozen Monkeys". The studio version of the song is performed by an 11 year-old girl, so Flansburgh has to adjust the lyrics when he sings it to compensate.

The worst-quality clip of all is a partial clip from "Alphabet of Nations", but simply because it is that song, I'm including it anyway.
